Directions

From Portland, drive Highway 26 to Forest Service Road 42 (which is located about nine miles past the Highway 35/Highway 26 intersection). Turn right and drive on this road for about 4 miles until reaching Forest Service Road 58 (Abbott Road), and drive for another 1.5 miles to the trailhead at the far end of the Little Crater Campground.

Trail Description

The Timothy Lake Loop is a mostly flat, 12-mile stroll around the Lake with breathtaking views of Mt. Hood and beautiful forests. Be sure to get a look at Little Crater Lake, a small artesian pool near the trailhead.

7/25/05 Hiked the trail today and enjoyed it very much! For a 12 mile hike it is fairly easy. Just Little Crater Lake is worth the drive.
